Is MBA for you?
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a master's degree in business administration that people usually take after some time in the business world. MBA degrees are usually aimed for people in their late 20s or early 30s whereas Executive MBA (EMBA) degrees are aimed for more senior people. Both MBA and EMBA degrees attract people from a many range of academic disciplines. One common thing with most of the students is their goal to accelerate career developmen.
The core courses in the MBA program are designed to introduce students to the various areas of business. This may incldude topics such as accounting, finance, strategy, economics, marketing and leadership.
There are several things to consider when you decide the MBA program you want to apply to. In general, the five most important factors that you should consider are
- reputation of the program
- your financial resources (including availability of scholarships or financial aid)
- paypack of the program (e.g. potential career development after it)
- the quality of the program (e.g. academic staff)
- the return of the financial and time investment
